Both the number of CSAs in New York City and the average number of members per CSA have mushroomed over the last 10 years. At the same time these grassroots, volunteer-run organizations have begun to offer more food and payment options to meet the specific needs of their communities.
The volunteers who run these organizations are passionate about helping their communities but feel increasingly overwhelmed by growing demands.
FarmBridge is designed to help these communities thrive by providing support to CSA organizers, and helping to connect CSA members.
The Solution
Helping CSA OrganizersManage. FarmBridge offers integrated online tools designed to decrease administrative burden. In one place, CSA organizers can offer member registrations, track and manage subscriptions, billing, work shifts, and communication to their members. They can even set-up automatic reminders and requests, such as invoices to members who have signed up. Customize. Organizers can easily customize not only the look and feel, but also the functionality of their FarmBridge site for their local neighborhood. Communities can tweak subscription and payment options, social networking, and privacy features. Collaborate. Successful CSAs have a large core group of organizers and many active members. FarmBridge enables CSA organizers and members to collaborate on just about anything - recruiting new shareholders, setting up and updating member lists, scheduling an education event, sharing recipes, or managing work shifts.
